We are a parent-run playschool and that means there really is an entire team that works together to make this school happen. Our team includes our teachers, the volunteer parents who step up to work as part of our Board, and the families who attend our school. The Chestermere Community Playschool has excellent teachers guiding our little ones along. Mrs. Emily and Ms. Jenn have been working hard all summer to make this year an extra special one. We can't wait for you to meet them!
Hi! I’m Emily Fitzgerald - Mrs. Emily to the students and Mommy to my own little boy! I graduated from Mount Royal University with my Bachelor of Applied Child Studies Degree as well as my Child Development Supervisor Certification. I started teaching at the Playschool in September of 2013.
There are a number of things I love about my job, but one of my favourite things about teaching at the Playschool is the gym and outdoor time! I am an active person, so I love that we have the opportunity everyday to work on our gross motor skills while also burning off a little energy at the same time! I truly love my job and feel so lucky to make special connections with the students and their families :)
Hi everyone, I'm Ms. Jenn! I am so excited to start teaching at the Chestermere Community Playschool. Some of you will know me from my time in the playschool as a Child Development Facilitator. I have 5 years experience in that position specializing in behaviour and speech/language development as well as fine and gross motor development.
I'm an Alberta native and have lived in the Calgary area since I was 10 years old. Now I live in Langdon with my husband, two daughters (10 and 13 years) and our two dogs. As a family we love camping, fishing and playing board games. I have many years experience volunteering in my community as a Girl Guide leader and at my daughter's schools. Although I am already familiar with the playschool, I look forward to this new adventure with Mrs. Emily, Ms. Jamie and your children!
Hello, my name is Ms. Jamie! I am so excited to meet all the students and their families when I join the playschool this October! I was born and raised in Strathmore, Alta and still live there today. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and work with children. I attended and graduated from Bow Valley College with my level 3 Child Development Supervisor diploma. I taught in Standard and Strathmore for the last five years while also working at the Youth Club of Strathmore, teaching has always been a passion of mine!
My favourite thing about teaching is setting up play experiences in the dramatic play area for the children and watching them explore what I have created! I have set up farmers markets, pie stands, hot cocoa stands, built a spaceship, an igloo, a polar express train, apple orchards and many many others! My best friend Pete the Cat and I can't wait for all the fun we are going to have this year!
